The 5th Spanish Passivhaus Conference will take place in Gijón, Asturias on October 17th and 18th 2013.
It is this year organized by the Asturian Delegation of the Passivhaus Building Platform (PEP-Plataforma de Edificación Passivhaus). PEP is a spanish nonprofit association born in 2008 which aims to promote this standard as a reference system for compliance with the European Directive 2010/31/EU, which states that by 2020 all new buildings should be nearly zero-energy buildings.
The conference’s targets are professionals of the building sector, public administrations, universities, housing developers interested in promoting innovative projects and, in general, the whole industrial sector : thermal insulation companies, windows, glazing, ventilation and air-conditioning, etc.
While the conference takes place, an open public exhibition fair will be organized with stands related to passive houses’ installations and building materials. There will also be demonstrations and workshops.
